Drawn before it was digital

Paperbot began with pencil-and-paper characters, environments and interface ideas. I edited, textured and animated those drawings for the game, keeping the irregular handmade quality visible on screen.

Developed approximately between 2015 and 2017, the project later expanded into 3D character studies and a broader robotic-city concept without abandoning the original silhouette.

A complete runner-shooter loop

The playable game combined continuous movement, shooting, enemy avoidance, hazards and stage-specific navigation. La Nave, Cubierta and Descenso changed the use of space while objectives, difficulties and records gave each run a purpose beyond survival.

I built the mechanics, content and interface as one system. Character statistics, inventory, equipment, workshop upgrades, rewards and mystery boxes connected moment-to-moment play to longer-term progression.

A connected mobile game

Paperbot also integrated the services around an Android game: Google Play achievements, rankings and cloud saving. Events and additional content extended the experience beyond the initial stage.

The game is no longer available in the store. Its lasting value is the evidence of complete ownership—from the first pencil line to gameplay code, progression and connected services.
